UniverCity Community Card

The Community Card, offered free of charge to all UniverCity residents, is just another benefit to the UniverCity lifestyle. SFU’s facilities are some of the best within the area and typically reserved for university students. However as part of SFU’s commitment to a sustainable life residents can benefit from these facilities.

 
Access is provided to the following:
 
Library Collections – Full access to the SFU library is made available to residents through the Community Card. Access a wide range of literature ranging from online journals, books, and images through to the range of services, collections, space, and technology all of which to support research, learning, and recreational interests.
 
Athletic and Recreational Facilities – There has never been a better opportunity to become fit, remain that way and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Through the Community Card, UniverCity residents qualify for discounted access to SFU’s athletic and recreational facilities and programs. Enjoy a wide range of options: aquatic activities, fitness classes and organized sports programs.
 
Special Events - Looking for entertainment? As part of the Community Card, UniverCity residents qualify for discounted access to a wide range of special events hosted by SFU including SFU Theatre productions, sporting events and ceremonies
 
Summer Camps – Benefit from year round Child and Youth Camps made available to all UniverCity residents through SFU Camps programs. These camps foster creativity, enhance skills and cultivate memories for children and youth of all ages.
 

Cooperative Auto Network

The SFU Community Trust has yet again established another partner in sustainability, this time with the Cooperative Auto Network (CAN), in order to foster a green, environmental conisous and sustainable environment for UniverCity residents. Through the Car Sharing program, residents gain access to a fleet of vehicles that can be rented on an hourly or daily bases.
 

Childcare

In partnership with SFU Childcare Society, residents can take added comfort that childcare services are available. Wait list priority is currently being offered to UniverCity residents for childcare services which are offered for all age groups at the Simon Fraser University Childcare Services facilities, located on the SFU Campus. In addition, preschool care is offered to children aged one to three within UniverCity, located at the Verdant development. SFU Community Trust is committed to ensuring a sustainable environment and will be adding a new 50 space facility for children aged three to five within the community in the near future. This new facility will be based on the Reggio Emilio concept of childcare and early childhood education.
